EXPERIENCE

Richard has extensive experience in the Commercial and Corporate World. Prior to entering the legal profession, Richard had been Chief Executive of several large entertainment businesses in Northern Ireland and further afield. Upon entering the legal profession, he immediately specialised in Corporate, Commercial and Land and Property Law. During his practice at the Bar of Northern Ireland he acted for numerous clients in the areas of Trust and Inheritance Dispute and was involved in acting for Estate Agents, Letting Agents and Landlords in a major case concerning Letting Fees in Northern Ireland. Richard has acted for many of the leading property developers. Richard has a particular interest in disputes concerning property, banking, landlord tenant and Intellectual Property.

In or around 2021 Richard became Legal Counsel for the J C Bamford Family and their purchase of the assets of Wrightbus Limited. Within 6 months Richard was promoted to Group General Counsel for Bamford Bus Company Limited, Wrightbus International (Hong Kong, Malaysia and Mexico), Ryze Hydrogen, Fuze Fin and Hygen (Hydrogen Production).

Since 2019 Richard has sat as a member of SEMO ( Single Electricity Market Operator)- the organisation facilitates the continuous operation of the Electricity Market in Ireland (North and South). He also sits as a Part-Time Member of the Legal Aid Agency Panel in Northern Ireland.

A certified mediator, Richard brings strong interpersonal and negotiation skills as well as his commercial experience to help clients resolve disputes. His in-depth knowledge of the Commercial and Corporate World makes him ideal for commercial and business disputes.
